Fairline Updates Its Targa 48
Fairline, a luxury boat brand from Britain, recently unveiled the first boat that features its new interior scheme, dubbed Capri.
The boat in question is Fairline’s Targa 48 open, which is already well-regarded among boat lovers as an exciting sports cruiser. This one, though, is special, due to having the full Capri interior scheme fitted throughout.
The new scheme, neutral in nature, was chosen by the owner of this new Targa 48, who saw sense in the elegant, muted palette featuring soothing taupe, white and cream colourways with duck egg blue hues.
According to Fairline, the interior scheme accentuates the feeling of space on the targa 48, as well as making an impact on the boat’s ambiance. There are gloss veneers replacing fabric panels, as well as luxurious touches such as leather-bound and stitched handrails. Certainly, with the canvas roof retracted, this motor yacht would feel extremely light and airy.
Fairline’s new interiors scheme was actually launched at the London Boat Show 2015, featuring four design themes. The Amalfi theme is made up of mustard and teal, while Capri (as on the new Targa 48 open) is neutral in colour. The Hamptons scheme is made up of reds, while St Tropez is made up of blues.
According to Fairline, each collection is designed to evoke the experience and sensation of one of the world’s best-loved boating destinations, hence the name of each scheme. Colour palettes are inspired by the local architecture, scenery and environment at each destination. There are also patterns inspired by nautical rope, umbrella stripes, rich colours, natural textures, seaside shells and wind-swept sand, the company says.
“The inspiration behind the four new ranges is to offer luxurious, bright, modern interiors that fully complement our range of luxury boats. Following feedback from our customers that they wanted to make bolder interior choices, the myriad of options available within each range blend perfectly together, giving Fairline owners the confidence to make stylish choices in their interiors,” explains Fairline’s interior designer, Robyn Notley.
“The Capri collection reflects the spectacular coastal scenery and the freshness of the Mediterranean breeze, inspiring a design rich in textures with a neutral colour palette; whilst the St Tropez collection brings designer style and a little joie de vivre into any interior space, using the ocean’s blue tones to make a bold yet stylish and timeless statement.”
However, just because a single scheme is chosen, doesn’t mean that buyers have to abide by the laws of that particular design. According to Fairline, each scheme provides complete flexibility in a choice of fabric and surface finishes, allowing owners a wider personal expression of interior styling.
