Revolution By Evolution
Ferretti Yachts recently presented its new 850, the result of the intense collaboration between Ferretti Group’s Product Strategy Committee and Studio Zuccon International Project for the exterior design and interior layout, and the group’s Engineering Department for the naval and technical engineering, design and fitting out of the interior.
The new craft, which was unveiled at BOOT 2016, will be built in the Cattolica shipyard and make its official public debut early in September this year.
“The Ferretti Yachts 850 is one of two brand new models that Ferretti Yachts is presenting in 2016, the second being the new 45-footer. Both yachts will be previewed over the summer before their worldwide launch at the Cannes boat show,” announced Ferretti Group’s Chief Commercial Officer, Stefano De Vivo, during the official presentation.
“The Ferretti Yacht 850 plays a key role in the evolution of our range. It features captivating design and bold performance, but also seductive interiors, comparable to those one would find in a sumptuous loft apartment. We are proud to be presenting a yacht that will leave luxury boating enthusiasts breathless as soon as they step aboard.”
The waterlines draw inspiration from the successful Ferretti Yachts 80-footer and have been adapted to the increased length of the hull, which is now 85.4 feet (26 metres), with a construction length below 24 metres, thereby falling within the classification category for recreational boats.
The Ferretti Yachts 850 is immediately striking for its bold profile, characterized by sharp angles that give it a strong and aggressive personality. The two-trapezoidal hull windows, with integrated portholes, have been extensively restyled and are very large and extremely streamlined to maximise the amount of natural light and provide magnificent views from the inside.
The main deck enhances the yacht’s dynamic personality, thanks to a single glazed window that cuts across the entire superstructure. The profile is completed by the flybridge with its optional fore-and-aft hard top over the raised pilothouse and roll bar in Vulcan Grey to contrast with the ivory white of the hull and superstructure.
