Zegna Teams Up With Mr.Porter
A few days after Tiffany & Co announced it will sell its products on Net-A-Porter in over 170 countries, Ermenegildo Zegna announces its collaboration with Mr Porter.
Zegna asserts its presence on the web.
The online sales platform that also belongs to the Yoox Group Net-A-Porter (YNAP) will start selling the brand’s products from July 26, 2016.
Jackets, suits, sweaters, but also accessories and shoes marked with the brand Ermenegildo Zegna will therefore be marketed worldwide.
The brand of ready-to-wear Italian relied, until now, on its 523 shops, department stores and on its own website to sell its products.
“A perfect showcase for luxury collections” (Gildo Zegna)
“In a world where the digital exposure and digital presence is of great importance for the future, this partnership is a strategic move for us,” said Gildo Zegna, CEO of the brand.
A partnership already existed between Zegna and Yoox. Now, the creations of the ready-to-wear brand will be placed on the online sales platform alongside Givenchy, Saint Laurent and Tom Ford.
Ermenegildo Zegna continues to grow.
Last year, sales of ready-to-wear brand rose 4%, up to 1.26 billion Euros against 1.21 billion in 2014. This observation recalls that the most prestigious luxury brands continued their economic ascent even in a difficult economic context.
The constant decline in margins however affected the profits of Ermenegildo Zegna. Its net profit amounted to 45 million Euros in 2015 against 71 million in 2014. A slight drop explained by the investments undertaken by the brand for the new Novara production site.
