A Timeless Trio

Vacheron Constantin reaches into its archives to re-introduce three Vintage-inspired timepieces.

Vacheron constantin has launched the historique collection, which includes three icons said to be for those whose love is devoted to vintage style creations. These models were originally created decades ago, but have been remanufactured and revived to suit a more contemporary taste.

Inspired by the original water-resistant chronograph design, the cornes de Vache 1955 is reinterpreted into a classic 18-karat pink gold case and a transparent sapphire crystal caseback that features the entire manual winding movement. this greatly sought-after piece bears the exclusive hallmark of Geneva.

it remains creative by featuring the stylised “cow horn” lugs, as well as also managing to continue tradition by showcasing the column wheel shaped emblem of the manufacturer, the Maltese cross. the second design, the american 1921, was originally created for the American market in the infamous Jazz age. This piece perhaps remains most loyal to its original creation as it still bears the cambered case and diagonal time read off as well as the offset ball shaped crown.

Featuring arabic numerals, the 65-hour autonomy drives hours, minutes and small seconds indications. This undeniably debonair watch is further complemented with a deep blue coloured alligator leather strap, complete with a glossy platinum buckle.

Measuring a mere 1.64 mm and thus being one of the thinnest in the world, the ultra-fine 1955 is a true testament to Vacheron constantin’s ability to make exceptionally slim watches. This timepiece features 18-karat gold bridges adorned with a hand manufactured sapphire crystal back that is waterproof till up to 30 metres.

Placed on a silvered opaline dial, the watches hours and minutes functions are of a simplistic style. the blue hour marker works beautifully in conjuction with the dark strap and the shining platinum buckle. this as well as the slender and clear-cut dial display reflect the forever stylish nature of this classic timepiece.
